Terms of use

These terms cover using Tee for iPhone. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The service

Tee reads a video you share from TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts, and keeps the names of what was in it, sorted onto shelves you can browse later. Tee does not host, stream, sell or redistribute the videos, and it does not host the films, music, books or anything else it names. It tells you what something is and where it lives, then hands you to the service you already use.

Accounts

You need an account to use Tee, even on the free tier. Sign in with Apple or Google; there is no guest mode. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in working, and the account is yours to use on your own devices. One account per person; if you suspect someone is using your account, sign out and back in and tell us at [email protected].

The free tier and Tee Pro

  • Free. Two new videos a day, at no cost. Videos Tee has already read do not count, so re-sharing something from your library is always free.
  • Pro. Removes the daily limit. Billed through your Apple ID as a renewable subscription, at the price shown in the app: $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year, with a free trial of 7 days on monthly or 14 days on yearly. Prices shown are US; your store sets the local equivalent.
  • Renewal and cancellation. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple ID settings, and the subscription stays active until that period ends. Trials are one per person.
  • Refunds. Payments are handled by Apple, so refund requests go to Apple too.

Fair use

Tee Pro has no daily limit, but no service is truly unlimited. Our fair-use policy says exactly where the rate limit is, and it is published at the point of sale. Please read it before you subscribe.

Your conduct

  • Do not automate access to Tee, scrape it, or use it to bulk-process videos outside normal app use.
  • Do not use Tee to store or distribute anything illegal or harmful, or to harass anyone.
  • Do not try to break, reverse engineer or bypass the app or its limits.

Rights

The videos you share belong to their creators and the platforms that host them. Tee keeps only enough of each video to show you what was in it: the title, the cover, the address. You keep your own content; by using Tee you grant us the limited right to process the videos you share so we can provide the service, which is the whole point of the app.

The Tee name, logo and app are ours. Do not use them to pretend you built Tee, or to imply we endorse something we do not.

Accuracy

Tee reads what a video says and checks names against real catalogues, but it can still mishear a title, and a video can leave things out. Findings are suggestions to help you remember, not guarantees. Check a title, price or address before you act on it. The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tee is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, including anything you buy, book or visit after seeing a finding. Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

Third-party software

Tee uses open source libraries. The one you are most likely to be asked about is YouTubePlayerKit by Sven Tiigi, which plays YouTube videos, distributed under the MIT license:

Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. We will post the new terms on this page, and if a change affects your rights we will ask for your agreement in the app before it applies. Continued use after the change means you accept it.
